Dr. Fisher is a civil engineer with over 25 years’ experience in environmental management and civil design.  He has researched for 8 years urban food systems as a fellow at the University of Colorado’s Center for Sustainable Infrastructure Systems.  Dr. Fisher has practical field work in the areas of institutional and micro-enterprise evaluation, low-tech and sustainable solutions for water and wastewater in agricultural, industrial, commercial and residential applications, and appropriate technology in community development.  The settings of this work have been Argentina, Dominican Republic, Eritrea, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Peru, and Zimbabwe.  Dr. Fisher evaluated urban infrastructure and formal/informal economies associated with handling/processing solid and liquid wastes in a urban retrofit master plan for Kigali, Rwanda.
